About Natalia

Natalia Erdmann is a Mexican artist who paints only in watercolor. Estudio NEC is the name she works under.

The octopus, with a brush and the palette.

Her background is in architecture, and it is visible in the paintings: in the margins left around a field of color, in the placement of a ridge or a stem on the sheet, and in her attention to edges, where a wash either stops crisply or is released into wet paper.

Her subjects include landscapes and meaningful places, botanicals, birds and animals, still life, and the figure. Alongside her own explorations she paints commissions, from a single large painting to a group of works for a home or another interior.

Photography is another of her interests. Her paintings are watercolor.
